Just a quick question. I haven't owned a fox in awhile but when I owned one I had this problem, but sold my car just before fixing it...

And now my neighbour who owns a fox has this problem.

The RPM gauge isn't responding whatsoever.
I was just curious how to troubleshoot this problem.

Is it the entire gauge cluster that needs to be replaced?
could it just be a sensor?

thanks for reading up on my noob Q.

While I don't have any constructive help to your problem, please call it a "tachometer" or "tach" for short, and not an RPM guage...

In the name of defense, knowing a proper name makes it easier to search. Doug is a totally cool dude. And we know they do things a little differently up North.

If you have a mechanic's tach, you can hook it up at the cluster and see if it works. If so, the OEM tach is likely bad. If the mech's tach doesnt work, that really suggests a wiring issue.

Good luck.
