Today I finished up pulley installed. Took the car for a ride.. didn't notice any gain at all but it was fun

Then started on Accufab Plenum/75mm TB installation. I got the volt meter to test the TPS and it read 0.96. So, I took everything apart and install new plenum/tb. Hardest part was to get the stock rubber tube to mat with the 75mm TB (blood involved). Anyhow, I was happy that everything turned out great. I retook the voltage of the TPS and adjust it to 0.97 this time. Start the car and the idle is perfect

Here's where the problem comes in. I felt like I have a new pedal installed when I first drove the car normally.. I can feel the new power from it right away. I was like in the car. Anyhow, I drove it without a/c on to the stop sign and everything was perfect. Then I turned on the a/c to see what happens.

When idle.. the rpm would jump up about 300 rpm and hangs there for a while then it would come down to 800-1000 range. While the car is running. I turned on the a/c. Then put it in neutral. The rpm would just hang there. It would not come down UNTIL I come to a complete stop.

I disconnected the battery during the plenum install. Maybe the car has to learn how to use a/c again without hanging the rpm?

Any help would be great! Here are some pics.

Sweet! I told you that you'd notice the difference in power! (I cannot believe how some people have made this upgrade and said they notice no difference!?!?) Congrats on not compromising for the cheaper plenums and TBs out there.
With regard to the idle, mine still does it 5 months later, especially with the A/C on, but it got better about 1 week after the install. With the A/C on, the idle is raised and thereby aggravating the issue, but it should get better with time. But it will likely never go away completely. This is an issue with any plenum and TB upgrade. I hardly notice it on mine now. Just hangs for a second. A small tradeoff for the additional power, especially above 3K RPMs.
Congrats again - nice!
Mind if I throw my pic in for compare?

Hmm.. well I didn't use the tps screws or IAC screws that it came with accufab... there's no need to anyhow..

Maybe if I try to set the tps to .98 or .99? But the stock setting was .96 though. Now it's .97. I don't think it's an idle issue though.. Maybe someone else could help with this? But I'm glad I'm not the only one that experiencing this issue..

My combo went on Tues and Ive had the hanging idle since. It will hang while driving untill I come to a complete stop then it will drop to normal. It doesnt really bother me that much though Any reason it bothers you guys so much? I wouldnt complain if it didnt get stuck and went back to normal, but I dont think there is much we will be able to do about it.
I noticed a definate change for the better in sotp feel . I nailed it the other day leaving work and spun nicely up until mid 2nd gear with minimal effort

I'm thinking the next thing I'll do is an Accufab plenum/TB, hadn't heard about this before. Has anyone installed a new plenum/TB and not had this kind of trouble or does everyone go through it?

Everyone goes thru it! There are 2 or 3 other active threads out here right now. Get the Accufab plenum and TB - you won't be disappointed.

I've had mine on so long, but I think I remember it hanging some. I don't notice it now. I think it relearned the new info and adjusted.

Mine does this now and as far as I know its completely stock. (Bought it from a dealer, so there's no telling what the previous owner did to it.) I've always just assumed it was the power brakes or something that made the RPM's stay up till I'm completely stopped. Who knows, I'm such a newbie at this stuff.

I installed a Dragon plenum and 70mm Ford Racing TB without an idle problem.
