rpms bouncin all around

my rpms seem to die a little at idle. it drops down close to 500 the shoots up to 1000 and then goes back to around 6 or 700. its been doing this since i got the car so yesterday i decided to try and up the idle a little to see if that would do anything. it doesnt seem as bad but its still dying then jumping up. after the change i also noticed that while driving the rpms stay up when i push in the clutch??? and then stay at about 1250 when i stop then drop back down to idle??? any ideas, i got time on my hands for a few days so ill try anything.

I would check and make sure that you dont have an leak anywhere. My car does the same thing as yours. If you have a cam or any major mods done to your car it is just something that you are gunna have to live with.

i doubt this is it, but check all your plugs/wires..i had a wire loose and my rpm's would jump up n down..just smoething to check
