I've run 8.8 1/8th on streets. Mods in sig. With slicks, he can run 8.4 if he's a good driver. Like I said earlier, long tubes make good power. Don't get pissed at guys that are faster than you. Learn from them.

my bud has a bullit with an x pipe (stock cat back) 3.73 k&n & an xcaliber tune that runs 8.60's consitantally and ran an 8.52 in richmond at fun ford weekend
The HP he claims sounds high (unless he's estimating flywheel?) but the 1/8 time is possible. I have run a handfull of 8.8's with the minimal mods below (usually one per track visit).. I am pretty consistant in the 8.9's with dyno numbers at 240 rwhp. Best is 8.86@78 (twice) with a 1.94 60'. I am by no means a great driver.
A guy I know has a Mach 1 with long tubes, off road X, SLP's and cold air and he gets into the high 7's on slicks. He dyno's a little over 300 (315 if I remember right).
I tried everything: 5 to 10 seconds burnouts, launches @ 2000, 3000, 3500, 4000 and so on... But over 3500 RPM I keep spinning. My Sportlines must prevent any weight transfer...

Not really any tips, but I would imagine that on a ET Street a 1.8 would be a "crappy" 60ft, even on an ill preppred track(we have 2 of those ****ty tracks here locally).
I would put about 10psi in the ET's and feather abuse that clutch out at around 4500.
I know all tracks are different, but good luck with your next outing. May also try removing the front swaybar endlink(or front swaybar itself) to get the front lift easier.
