1st a little blue smoke out the pipes. Its a newly rebuild moter could this be something burning in? Or is it worse?
2nd there is a vibration. I just put in a new aluminum driveshaft but it was vibrating before it was even in there with no driveshaft. Could my fly wheel/clutch be loose?
I have a 28 oz balancer I'm for sure and a 28 oz flywheel I'm pretty sure but its something that just came up. I had the car with out a drive shaft and did the cam burn int at 3k and didn't have i then.
Well we did the rebuild with all new parts except the pistons. The block was honed but not borred, already at .060 over.
The driveshaft can't be the problem as it wasn't in originally when I playing with it. I did loose some tranny fluid and replaced some but I still need to put more in there, could this be a cause of vibration?
I'll try all the hoses/wires/plugs to see if that works.
It may smoke a little blue smoke while the rings wear into the cylinder nicely. The other thing is if you're not running a pcv, you could be pulling oil in through the guides.
I've got a pcv on her. I still have to tune the engine a little as I can't get it to idle below 1500 very well. I'm more worried about this vibration thing than anything else.
I'm also haveing trouble getting my hydraulic clutch linkage to engage the clutch??? I have the kit from JMC and I've adjusted the rod on the slave cylinder and it seems to be pushing the rod out but maybe I still have some air in there????
I had that problem this week after installing a rebuilt carb. I finally got it to 1200 rpms consistently. I read on another forum where a person rebuilt his engine and was having the smoking problem. I have that same problem, although my engine was rebuilt a long while back. He retorqued his intake manifold and that cured his problem. I tried retorquing mine and that seemed to help too. When I removed my carb, I sprayed carb cleaner around the manifold to clean up the gunk before installing the carb, making sure the intake plenum was plugged. After starting the car it smoked like hell. It must have been the carb cleaner seeping into the intake through the loose manifold gasket.
