All the 99-04 have the running horse I believe. Not sure about the other years.

I'm pretty sure the running horse on the windshield was added in 2001.

There are actually two runnin horses. There is the big one at the top of the windshield and then there is a little one at the bottom in the center.

If replacing your windshield, there are 3 options listed.

No pony - cheapest and usually what most insurance companies pay for
1 pony - little pony at the bottom
2 pony - both big pony at top and little one at bottom (most expensive)

My '00 GT has the running horse just above and behind the rear view mirror as well as the smaller one at the bottom.

I never noticed mine til 6 months after i bought the car. I've completely forgotten about it until times people mention it in threads like this. I've never had a passenger notice it at all.

It's a nice touch, but i wouldn't pay extra to get it. Still, since i'm a stickler, if my windshield got cracked, i'd want the exact same one going back in

After this thread fades from memory, i probably won't ever notice it again until the next thread

Yeah, I actually forgot about them being there aswell. I remember a few years ago I rode in a v6 mustang (00-01 maybe?) and it had the running pony there. I noticed it then but forgot all about it.

In fact--I don't believe I have seen a picture on this site where the pony actually grabbed my attention at all Maybe if it were white it'd show up a bit more

Ford does it on their Superduty trucks too. I beleive it's 2006+??? I know my old company had an 2006 f450 that had SUPERDUTY written across the windshield aboce the rearview in the same style as the pony.

However, you noticed that since it was a bigger font and a massive windshield.
