Data logged yesterday for a while and discovered (if I am reading this thing right) that I am running in WOT mode at part throttle and Part Throttle mode at WOT on the Diablo tune. Is this a tuning trick? Or am I misinterpreting this reading?

What you are likely seeing is open loop and closed loop. At WOT you go into open loop, but WOT is not the only time you are in open loop. Other things like temp, and load will determine what mode you are in.

this was from the get go. happened before at ignition all the way through my 35 minute drive home; WOT mode at part and vice versa.

are you sure you are looking at the pid for tps mode. loop is the one these guys are referring to.

if your tps mode is doing that you need to check your tps voltage and report back.

pretty sure, says "TP MODE" which according to the manual means "THROT POS MODE". voltage looks normal and progressive; starts at .98 and builds from there but i didnt watch it exclusively.

They have it backwards. Just know that when it say P/T, that's WOT. When it says WOT, that's part throttle.

I've posted that on their tech support forum on ModularFords. You might have to search through old threads. I also emailed Diablosport about it. I guess it's at the bottom of their list of things to do. That's typical of a software development group. They spend more time and resources on new stuff. Fixing little things like that, especially those that don't cause safety issues or prevent some other item to work, will be done whenever they get extra time.

PS. Nice to see you're really getting into that thing. Fun, huh?

I thought I had remembered that being posted on here before, but I couldn't find the old posts. Something about the status displays being switched.:nice:

BTW, I wish all software development groups were like that. My group spends MUCH more time on testing and process than we ever do on developent.

The ones that can't design or code become testers. The ones that can't test become process nerds. The rest become managers. :) It's a natural flow.

We have a separate group of testers that don't come from any development background, mostly from the business side. But any time I put in an estimate on development hours, I can count on their testing hours to be triple what I put in.
