I got a question and need a answer fast!!! Im getting my 02 Saleen tuned and Im running out of fuel. What size fuel pump does an 02 Saleen have and if I put in a 255 would that solve my fuel starvation. Im leaning out in my peak curve and need more fuel. Ive got the lighting MAF and 42 lb Injectors and a 10 lb pulley. Please respond ASAP!! Thanks!!!! Jake

Yes you need a larger pump.255 will work up to about 400rwhp or so.If you can afford it just get a 03 cobra tank and pump and be done.

You will be fine with the 255 pump with a 10lb pulley. They come with the stock GT pump.I believe it's 190.If you plan on big power you should get the cobra tank & pump, then you will not have any fuel issues.

You can also get a navigator fuel pump and swap it over to yours, there are some write-ups on this if you search.

Actually, I think you meant Aviator pump. But yes, either the SVT Focus, Lincoln Aviator, or 03/04 Cobra Pump will work.

Yep.

Rob is on it. You should not have any problems up to 400 Rwhp with the 255. I was running out of fuel with my new 255 in tank, new filter and 47lb injectors. My dyno guy said I should be making more without a boost a pump.
Pulled my tank and there was a lot of silt, black flaky crap that would get stirred up really easily in and around the bucket and it was obvious that it was getting sucked onto the filter sock on the bottom of the pump. flushed the tank, new pump, and new fuel filter. No boost a pump yet, going back to dyno again next week. will post details.

Or you can just add the KB boost-a-pump, it will increase the flow of your stock pump under boost by 50% or so.

I thought Boost-a-Pumps frequently created drivability problems with returnless fuel systems and sometimes caused the pumps to burn out? Have they modified the design?

fuel

on my 02 sc i swaped out the fuel pump
with one from an svt focus
but i was also running into problems
with fuel running out
we think we have the problem traced
back to the pump, with i swaped out the pumps
i did not change the bowl's
i was told that the circular hole at the
bottom on the bowl is a fifferent size
with the larger pumps
there solution was to port the hole a
little bit with a drill i havent done yet
but i hope it will solve the problem
i also recently instaled a fuel
pressure gauge to if this was relly my problem
but the weather up here has stoped me from finding out
but for the time being we took a few derges out
for safe driving untill the problem is solved,
alnother solution would be to just go with the cobra duel
pumps, there going for fairly cheep with cobra
oweners swaping for the larger focus pumps
the only downside would be having to buy the tankl
which steeda sell's for around $400.00
