running rich at idle

i have a 2000 gt with mac longtube headers. The last few months before i put the car away for the winter i could smell gass wehn i star the car (its a convertible) and when i shut it off. I wondering what this could be caused by and what i can do to fix it?

I would suspect an exhaust leak somewhere.
