I just got my car back a few days ago, with some backfiring and starting issues. Anyways the mechanic said its running kind of rich. What causes that to happen, and how can i fix it?

If you still have the 19lb injectors...I dont' see why it would run rich...can you smell it?...if not you should be fine...check your plugs...the autos are known to usually run a bit richer than a 5spd car...I wouldn't worry about it unless the "richness" makes your eyes water like my car does...it runs real rich at idle ...the eyes get

Mine seems to run rich too. Of course it has an off-road h pipe but still it seemed rich. Mine for some reason has an ECU for an auto (A9P)from the factory. After the Superchip it seemed to lean out a bit. I get a haze from the exhaust when I gas it hard in gear.

Could be O2 sensor or something like that. The way I see it, it's better to run a lil rich than lean though.

I notice we both have smog pumps removed too, maybe that will do it?

pull codes. also since you have a mechanic, see if he has a scanner that streams (reads real time data) - that would tell you real quick.

good luck.
