Ok guys, as most of you know I wrecked the car about a month ago. I only got to drive the car about 60 miles after I got it retuned before we wrecked but it seemed like it drove absolutely perfect. Well today was the first day we really got to drive it and its acting kid of weird. While cruising down the highway at 55-60 mph the car seems to miss every once and awhile but not as bad if the AC is on and OD is turned off. We’re thinking its putting enough load on the motor to keep it out of the bad spot or something along those lines. When you go WOT there is no problem what so ever, it’s seriously crazy and just blows the tires off.

Now after driving it about an hour and doing a few WOT runs the car really seemed to clean up but it was still there a little bit.

My question is what could this possibly be?

We’re thinking along the lines of:
1) Drivability issue in the tune. (Seems wrong. It drove well before we wrecked)
2) Bad Sparkplug
3) Bad COP
4) MAF Problem

I’ll be checking the sparkplugs tomorrow and doing a diagnostic check on it also to see if a COP is bad. I will also try to reload the tune just to see.

Is there anything else you guys think this could be?

Try Seafoam, then do the plugs.. Iam sure you know but do the plugs on a Dead cold engine, and tq them to 13ft lbs (I am pretty sure thats correct)

Maybe even do the fuel filter

Maybe somehow liquid got into one of the plug wells?

Also if it is still throwing the P1000 it is still learning the idles and may need a bit more time to get them straight.

If it is not throwing the P1000, try resetting the PCM and be sure to do the proper relearn fuel trim process as outlined in your owner's manual.

Also, what did you gap at? With forced induction you really have to close the gap down to .034 or less to prevent spark blowout.

Well as I posted in another thread 3 of the sparkplugs where shot to say the least. I put TR6s in and as soon as I started her up you could tell a difference in the idle, it was way smoother. Took her out for a spin and she ran like a beast and the misfire was gone. I do have some BR7s on order; nobody around here carries them. I’m pulling the 3 that were fried out tomorrow since I got some miles on them and a “few” WOT runs to see how they look, if the three are starting to burn up tomorrow I’ll know its in the tune and she’s running a little lean. I think it was when my MAF was messed up causing the car to go lean and rich all the time. At some points it was showing the car was running 20% lean at cruising speeds which could have fried them easily.

It felt so good to be back driving her today, the car is crazy fast and looks mean as hell. I just got done washing her so Ill have some pics tomorrow.

Kilgore: If your not doing anything tomorrow come to the Auburn car show, it starts at like 5:30 and runs like all night. I'll be there with the stang and so will some of my friends. Also I think we might have the Shelby there too depending on if my dad comes or not.
