Ok, just installed a cam in my 94 gt everything was fine for like a week after fixing normal tuning and timing problems. Now the engine runs great for 10-15 minutes and then dies. There is no bogging down no hesitiation just straight dies. Have put on a new distributor stator, ignition module, coil and checked endless things until my brain is fried. After the vehicle runs for the stated time the module is really, really hot and the car has to sit for about 30 minutes before it starts. Help anyone?

Yeah, overheating ignition module is dieing on you. See if you can pull up the distributor and jump some teeth counter clockwise to get it away from the thermostat housing, then jump your sparkplug wires clockwise to compensate. This will help to get it away from the heat. You also may want to consider removing it and putting plenty of dielectric grease on the contact area to help dissipate heat.

the module is already mounted on the fenderwell its away from everyhting pretty much except the CAI housing. will try the grease though real quick.

Too much dielectric grease isn't a good thing. Heat sink grease is a nice alternative.

When the car craps out, see if you have spark and injector pulsing. If missing both, think PIP. If missing only spark, the PIP should be ok.

The 94-95's are more prone to PIP failure than TFI failure. A parts store can bench test the TFI for you if you like.

I'd also want to check fuel pressure. Normally the car sputters when the diaphram starts to get loosey-goosey but you've already replaced some stuff.

If the Dizzy was reman'd, that doesnt mean the PIP was replaced during the reman'ing process.

Random thoughts.
Good luck.

Sounds like the TFI going bad.

I agreee with the PIP idea. I would pull codes to be sure the ECM will throw a code indicating any erratic PIP signals.

Sorry man I wasn't paying attention like I should have, they moved the TFI in 94 to the fender like you said, so you're probably right in that it's not overheating.

+1 for wonky PIP signal.

The TFI wasn't the problem, it was the coil apparently, because i replaced the whole distributor instead of just the stator and then the module. After coil replacement works fine, except now my matco scanner says check cylinders 2&3 during cylinder balance!?!?!?http://forums.stangnet.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Sorry about the sn95 confusion, I hope I didn't cost you money!

Give it a compression and a leakdown test and see what those cylinders are reading compared to the rest. It will give you an idea of what's going on. If nothing looks wrong with those tests, your issue is going to be spark, fuel, or valvetrain timing.

I gave it a compression check and it was OK not the best but within tolerance with the rest, and it passed leakdown. Am gonna pull head and see what i can see, maybe a gasket between cylinders blown?

Did the cylinder-balance-test fail all three iterations for both cylinders? Do you feel a solid miss at all times?

With how the thread started out, I didnt think the car ran poorly when cold, nor that there was a miss occuring.

As suggested, you could do a blowdown test on those two cylinders and see if each holds.

Good luck.

No the cylinder balance didn't fail both cylinders the first time just #3. I did a compression check and it seemed fine but did it again wet to see if there was a difference and there was none. Tried to balance again and then it started popping up check #3 and #2 so i'm pretty stuck won't be able to do blowdown until next weekend since my car is at a friends 2 hours away from me.
