Depends on how bad it is. I had some minor rust on the inside seam. Bought some Naval gelly from the hardware store. This stuff really works. It eats the rust to the bare metal so it kills the rust. I just used touch up after a little cleanup.

My driver side door has some really bad spots. They do sell a repro of the bottom X amount of inches but if you can score a rust free door, youd be better off. Unless you're comfortable and good at welding and touch up body work.

the bottoms of my doors are a bit rusty too, the passenger side even has a hole a bit smaller than a dime on it, been debating just patching it, and have been looking for just that lower portion, but have no idea where to find it. so where is a good place to find that bit of panel?
