Ok so I've had the car for a little over two years and I still love it with the exception that it's rusting in 3 spots. There is one spot on the roof where the paint is starting to bubble up and there is rust underneath, and it's rusting in two spots behind the GT emblem on the rear deck. I took it to one dealership who said that paint was covered under the standard 3 yr/36000 mile warranty, and I didn't purchase extended warranty and it's far past 36000 miles. I know this should not be happening on a relatively new vehicle so my question is should I try another dealership? A guy at the body shop said paint was covered for 5 years but I have yet to find someone else that can confirm that. And now I'm in the position to trade it in if I want. Right now the rust spots aren't very noticable until pointed out... I don't want a 3 year old rust bucket when it's paid off....thoughts?

i can tell you from experience the dealer will at the most, sand down the rust or maybe spot sandblast, then fill over the rust.

i worked at a dealer. did a warranty rust repair on a dodge ram. they told me to fabricate a patch panel and weld that in, instead of replacing the boxside. :notnice:
