Want to add low boost (eventaully to a 331 stock block stroker with the usual bolt ons and decent heads-prob trick flow, tf cam, etc). Been looking at the PAXTON SL and VORTECH V-1. I know if im going to be stroking to a 331 I wont see as much boost with a standard kit, so with either one I would be adding a power pipe and pully eventually.

Anyone using the new paxton sl? How is it? Anyone hear anything about it? I was thiking 8 psi would be perfect, do you think I can reach that with the paxton sl?

The vortech v-1 is cheaper, but it seems like another 400 bucks for the paxton would be worth it not having to tap the oil pan, what do you think?

The 331 short block will be in the process. So I was thinking of getting a supercharger and throwing on my fairly stock 93 gt, and then it will eventually go on the 331 when that gets done.

Any thoughts, opinions, info on the paxton sl? The 331 will be a daily driver, need to be streetable/as reliable as possible. Can a s/c 331 be that with low boost? Im hoping to be in the 400 hp range.

Why stroke to 331 if your putting a blower on it and using the stock block? Just wondering. Anyways, you would have no trouble making 400 rwhp on 5 or 6 psi on a 331. Vortech sells a V3 that you don't have to tap the pan for either, no idea on the price of it though.

The v-3 is almost 3,000.... I think you get a fuel pump and some type of rev limited unit? Some places have the v-1 for 1800 and the paxton sl about 2200. Kinda do like the no oil line systems... not sure if the v-3 is worth the extra money considering if i'll make plenty of power with 6 psi using the other two choices

I have a 331. Just bolted on a Paxton SL but it's too cold to start the car here. I just ordered some 42lbs injectors and a 80mm mass air and need to bolt on an Anderson power pipe.

The blower was super easy to install. I'm hoping to hit 400 - 450 at the wheels with a 11.5-11.9 1/4 mile time. Ran a 12.24 with just the 331.

Ease of installaion is a for sure plus. Definitely update me when you get it started. Maybe you can send me some videos too. Any pics? How much psi do you think you will be running? How much did you pay for it? (if you dont mind me asking) And about how much did a fuel pump set you back? rev limiter? Im for sure leaning more towards the paxton sl now. I like the fact the s/c is seperate from the engines oil pan.

What are your thoughts on having a 331 running 5-8 psi as a daily driver? (not a lof of driving per week). Do you think it can be reliable?

I can't get it started because it's -35* here right now. NO JOKE!!!!!!

I will be putting in a 255lph pump, 42lb injetcors, Pro-M 80mm mass air and Anderson power pipe when it warms up. A new pump is worth 80 -120 bucks depending where you buy it. I have 30lbs injectors and a 75mm right now but I don't think it will be enough. I was also running a 155lph with just the 331. No rev limiter with it, bought a MSD 6AL but got a 6A instead so I'll have to make due without one for now.

Installing it was easy and I believe the average Joe with a some mechanical skill can install it. I paid 1700 bucks for mine.

My car is drivin on weekends for 5-6 months and will be seeing the track 3-4 times. Reliable - yes. As a daily driver - not so sure.

Where did you get it for $1700??! Im thinking about getting it and throwing it on my mostly stock 93 gt. Then building a 331 on the side, which may take a few months to complete. In the pictures- is that what the intake tube looks like?

Do I need a Bypass valve/blow off vlave? If so, which one? I can throw the standard kit on a stock 5.0 out of the box right? Then for the 331 with the usual bolts ons, etc I will def need bigger injectors, etc.

Brand new off of Ebay. I've made 222 transactions so far and only had a problem 3 times but all were resolved.

Yes that's what the intake tube looks like = puke. I'm taking it back off to put on an Anderson power pipe, which should hopefully pick up some boost and look badass too. I think all the paxton / votech kits like this one come with it. It's a plastic 90* elbow with the flex tubing, and maf housing.

It comes with the standard bosch blow off valve and the whole kit should be ready to bolt on out of the box, ready for a stock 5.0. With the 331 you will defintely need bigger injectors, maf, pump etc.

I've done a lot of research on Stangnet and other sites and according to everyone else's experience my 30lbs won't cut it so I bought some 42's and an 80mm blower mass air.

You might be surprises with how the car is with just the blower and may not want to build the 331. You may want to just add the supporting mods to it. It gets VERY expensive doing both!! Now I need a tune = more money!

After thinking about it more and more I think Im going to go with the paxton sl.

Do you recommend a certain type of rev limiter, boost retard? I use to have a regular msd 6.

What gauges do you have? any pics? I think with only running 5-8 psi I want a boost gauge that only goes to 0-15 psi, but Im having a hard time finding them. I think a 0=30 psi gauge would be a waste,

Get a 6AL2 or similar for a box and get the car tuned, or tune it yourself. Don't just use the FMU. I thought autometer offered a 0-15? Mine is a phantom and goes to 20 psi.

I'm getting mine tuned with a Diablo Chipmaster Revolution chip which I paid 80 bucks for off of ebay as well. I'm gonna run a MSD 6A box with the rev limiter programmed into the chip. ( at least I think I can ) and no boost retard, don't think I need to run one on low boost set-up. I also have the phantom series guages but they are not installed.
