The tune is the most important thing. Some cars blow at 400 RWHP some hold up to over 500 RWHP. I have a friend that put a turbo on his stock interal 302 block. Dynoed at 501 RWHP and 567 RWTQ w/ a 60 MM HP turbo and H/C/I and exhaust. His car ran fine all summer, now its not a daily driver but dident drive it like a grandma either, frankly I would be quite proud of taking down modded 03 cobras w/ a 91 5.0

so if the block is the weak link what do people do in response to that.... when building high horse power motors. Switch to the siamese block with 4bolt mains? Or search for the mexican 5.0 blocks?

Or is this at the point where people start switchin to some of the bigger blocks like the 351,418,460. Wouldn't a stroked motor say like a 331 or 347 still have the same horse power capacity..yet people are building ones with blower setups that probably make insane power

The block split right down the middle aka the lifter valley. They do sell lifter valley supports to help strengthen the block. But if you're going to spend all this $$ on high horse power products to protect your investment a Dart block would be the way to go (its beefier).

another alternative would be the sportsman block.. But if you plan on making somthing wild like 800plus, then just go with the Dart, or A4/R block.
The 351 blocks do handle more power, so thats another alternitive (more cubes, and more power)

does the sportsman block keep the hydraulic roller cam or is it like the mexican block?
