Sagging seat belts! Anyone else have this problem?

I don't know if this TSB is actually for the sagging seat belt, but worth a try. Limp belts

I have called Ford and they told me that there was no recall on this. Anyway, the retractors are not bad. Its just a bad design. Even with new belts installed, it will still do the same thing after being used a while. Being held with only one bolt, the retractors WILL twist again.

I did the pull your belt off the retractor and give it one more twist to make the spring tighter...still don't go back in without my help

they are only 48 dollars per side... they take maybe 30 minutes per side to change... so its not the end of the world

It's under safety recalls (For 1999 GT), belt inspection/replacement. I'll tell you guys what Ford says tmw, I dropped her off tonight.

Ford guy checked my VIN for any recalls. Said my car is up to date.
When they checked in 99 or whatever, the belts were fine. They're like broken now.

Oh well. I'll try that tip at the top later. If it ever warms up.

FYI, Ford ordered 2 new belts for me. Ford covers them for 5 years/50000 miles.
Initially he said it wasn't a safety recall, but it since it doesn't retract properly it's covered under 5 yr/50000.
