Well, this must be the reason why they stopped making them..... The LS motor had better output then Ford's modular (no replacement for displacement, it's what they say...), but I don't think camaro >>> mustang. Don't forget how the modular 4.6L got better in 10 years (from 215 hp to 300 hp in a base GT) maybe if Ford had keep the 5.0L or the 351 they would have the same power as the LS serie...Now GM is bringing the camaro back because of the success of the new Stang!!! Anyways a little bit of competition is always fun... American RWD V8 FTW!!!!

And money or not, i still say saleen making a camaro is just plain wierd and stupid. Doesn't really matter anyway I guess. His saleen mustangs are so over priced I wouldn't even buy one if i were rich. I dont like paying for names...

The ONLY "named" mustang in my opinion that is worth ANY money is a Shelby new or old

And what is stupid in my statement......I don't give a **** about Saleen so they can make Mustang Saleen, Camaro Saleen and Civic Saleen...I prefer to build my own car to my own taste instead of buying an overpriced car modded by someone else.....

BTW I was replying to the guy saying camar0 >>> mustang....

What the hell is Steve Saleen thinking? Why on earth would a man want to expand his business? Become more diversified? It's pure Blastphamy!!!!!

I think as long as Saleen stays somewhat selective, we'll see the name continue to mean something. Now if Saleen starting building a version of every damn car on the road...that could be bad.

But a 6.2l V8?!?!?!? I can't wait until about the year 2012 when I'll be able to afford a used one!

dont forget how the modular 2V is still outpowered by the LS motor 10 years later. talk about being behind the curve...and Ford wonders why they keep doing so horrible as a company.

camaro>>>>>>mustang??? Did u forget that a cobra is still a mustang. And for the 02 camaro ss I think they costed around 32gs to pick one up new. And im pretty sure that the 03-04 cobra will walk away from one pretty easily. I dont really care about saleen because they are just too damn expensive. Oh and the saleen stangs were slower than the cobra anyways cause of the added weight.

I haven't been a fan of Saleen for a couple of years now...They went from small tuner making quality products to over priced car making over inflated ego having snobs...but fame will do that to you. I'd like to see how a Saleen Camaro turns outthough. You know it will have enough power stock so maybe some suspension and brake mods will make it a car i would consider owning.

As of now there are no Cobras being made! Maybe by the 09 model year Shelby will take his name and shue away so we can get some SVT made Cobras under 35k.

the 2V engine has nothing to do with Ford's problems. The Mustang was succesfull (sales wise) in every year that it ran the 2V. so too were the F150's that ran them. Ford's problem has to do with it's quality image, lack of leadership, mediocre vehicles, and costs.

Actually for the Anniversary SS package it was around 37k....lol.......And you cant compare an 03-04 Supercharged Cobra to a N/A Camaro SS......That 03-04 Cobra in N/A trim only puts around 275-280 Rwhp....
