Hey all I had a quick question to run by all you Saleen guys. I was thinking, the Saleen S281SC is running of course the same supercharger and tune setup as me. The only thing is, the exhaust on those cars (as I'm sure you know) are made to have dumps on the exhaust after certain RPMs or on WOT. They're actually tuned to make more HP that way. Would that effect me just having aftermarket mufflers and no dumps but the same tune? Is that why my exhaust always sounds bad when I floor it? Well maybe not bad really but raspy.

The exhaust system is an innovative variable design, featuring twin mufflers with vacuum-actuated valves that open above a specified back pressure. When these valves open, a portion of the exhaust gases is routed through a second set of tail pipes pointed at the ground which allows the engine to be calibrated to produce higher torque and non restrictive flow.

Only the 2005 Saleen Mustangs had funtional "flaps" on the exhaust. they were prone to rust and rattle and make noise. Saleen had a recall on it. The 06 and up cars have the same exhaust but are open all the time.

If you are only changing out the exhaust from the cat back you have no reason to change the tune.

It shows that exhaust as a 2005-2006 part number "2005-2006 Center Exhaust
Part Number: 10-2102-B13098"

I knew there was a recall because I worked at Ford at the time but I thought they just changed the design of the system not actually take it off.
