Saleen Mustang

Depends on your age, driving record, deductible etc.

My Roush came up as a limited edition when I got the insurance issued for it......only cost me about an extra $4-5 a month.

Not even close to the same thing.
Not close as in the Mach's a whole different car. I like Saleens but I must admit I'd rather have a Supercharged Mach. Well maybe. Look at a couple of the Supercharged or even the Twin Turbocharged one @ mach1registry.com. That's what got me on Supercharging mine.

it's really the same even if it's supercharged, believe me i work for a insurance company Sterling Casualty we own Dashers insurance and we don't charge more because it's supercharged but we don't insure Saleens. When we run your VIN number it comes up as a Mustang GT. You can add extra coverage to cover your rims and body kit. They all come out to symbol 24h for our company. There are some companys like bristol west (which my saleen and supra are covered with this company) that give the car a lower rating and symbol. It's not always based on your driving record and such. It also depends How many miles you drive a year, also where you live is the most important one. Let's say here in california, You live in Malibu hills your insurance rates are going to be cheaper than living in Los angeles. Why? Because it's more at risk that your going to get into an accident or your car stolen in a bad neighborhood than living in a upscale neighborhood. I hope this makes sence. If you notice when you look at you Declaration page you can see what you getting rated at. Ex. 78-42 is a risk for insurance companys therefor you pay out more. The lower the rate the better. Don't worry about paying more it's worth having a Saleen. Good Luck bro. If you guys are interested on some tips on your insurance company let me know.

Also considered in the rate is the population of the county in which you reside. The higher the population, the more likely you'll get in an accident or file a claim for some reason or another, including theft.

Is insurance higher for a saleen mustang GT as apposed to a regular GT?

i forgot to add something to my last post on here. Some insurance companys wont cover the body kit. You have to ask because if you don't and God forbid you crash you saleen they won't cover you body kit eventhough it came stock with the vehicle. :D

Correct, pretty much you can't avoid accidents, theft or anything for that matter. It's not always you that causes the accident, some people are just not cautious of there driving habits. Did you know that if someone has an accident in your neighborhood more than 5 or 6 times in a month at the time of your renewal your rates go up. Also if you get into an accident and it's not your fault The insurance company still charges you making your rates go up at time of renewal. at least our company.
