Just wanted to let everyone know about the 3rd Annual SOEC Driving Event is this year on Friday September 17th, the day before the Saleen Inc & SOEC annual show.

For complete information about the driving event please go to the following link:
http://www.saleenclub.net/drivingevent.php

The driving event is open to all current SOEC Members. If your not a current member, you can sign-up or renew your membership at the event. The membership is only $25.00 per year. Everyone is welcome to bring any type of mustang out to put it to the test, not just Saleen's. Saleen will be providing a car for the event just like the last 2 years for the out of town people that do not have one to drive on the course.

Please pre-register if you know you ar going to be there so that we know how much food to have on-hand for lunch.

If you have any questions at all, feel free in contacting me at [email protected]

We look forward in having a fun filled day of racing.

Any idea how many people are planning on attending? My wife and I are definately planning on going. We're looking into local area hotels. Does the club have a block of rooms anywere for the event? We will sign up for the club when we get there right?

What are the plans for the rest of the weekend? Do we have to do anything to register for the show? Is Steve going to be there to sign Saleen Books/cars? We are planning on getting there Thursday night and leaving Sunday afternoon to return to Phoenix. It would be nice to know if anyone else in the Phoenix area is going so that we can hook up for the drive. Let me know if you know of any club members in Phx going. Look forward to meeting you...

I currently do not know how many people will be attending. Last year we had between 10-15 people that drove at the event. Its really nice because we get a nice amount of race time that way, but I am thinking around 25 this year.

I will have a block of rooms setup tomorrow at the Irvine Suites which is were we have all stayed for the last 10 years. You can sign up for the club on Friday Morning.

Other things that will go on over the weekend are currently being finalized. I will be updating the SOEC webpage with the show flier that you can download and sent in if you like. Steve is normally at the show on Saturday and does sign autographics as well as signing cars too.

Feel free to email anytime.

Sounds like it will be fun. Are you planning on posting the hotel information so that people can make a reservation on the SOEC site? If not, let me know where, or e-mail me the details. Thanks again...

Sal

Bring the Infinity on out... I bet there are alot of people that would like to see how it would do.

What I really meant by all mustangs was that it wasn't open to only Saleen's.

Tell her that she can drive also on the course... Its a great time to put the car to its limits without getting in trouble with the law. :)

The one guy that helps out with the timing had his wife come out a few times in the past so that she knows what her minivan can do.

Have you come to the past driving events?

Hey,

We found a great $45.00 rate on priceline for a hotel. Here is the information:

Hotel:
Doubletree Hotel Irvine-Spectrum
90 Pacifica Avenue
Irvine, California 92618
United States
949-471-8888

Since you haven't made reservations yet, it is 3.5 miles from the Saleen Plant.
I have the map saved, but don't know how to insert it into this e-mail. I called the hotel to see if I could get a block of rooms for the same rate. They are going to call me back. I was figuring on 30-40 for the block? Let me know what you think. Don't want to step on any toes here, just thought I'd look into a couple of things in case it would help. I think it would be cool to have everyone at the same place and have a cleaning party for the show Friday night...

Woops, just saw that you are setting up at the Irvine Suited. Sorry...

So it's OK to bring my little Phatty with me (the wife). When you are married for a while, they tend to let themselves go, ya know! Oh, sure, they'll give you excuses like "I'm pregnant you jerk..." :rlaugh: But us guys know the truth. Yea, that's right, they're lettin themselves slip...

If I know my wife, she'll want to throw 'ol 07b through the cones, even though she is preggo. BTW, do we need to bring a helmet?

Sal

BTW, what goes in the forum, stays in the forum. Not that I'm scared or anything...lol (bored at work today...)
