same as the 4.6L in the mustang?

the 4.6L SOHC in the 1996 CROWN VIC is the same as the on in 96-98 NPI mustangs
Right or wrong?

well i heard that a PI intake could be installed on it...
but is it possiable PI heads on it?

you can use the engine. most of it is the same as the 96-98 GT's. the only differences are probably the tuning and the intake plenum/tb/manifold. you can swap the PI stuff on there just as easy as with the GT's.

i was thinking about it because there is one near me for like $2000 , i think i will use it as a beater ... i want to give my mustang some rest... it would be great if i could swap PI heads and INTAKE... low compression pistons ...put a 125 nos shot .... and have a pretty cool sleeper....
what do you think

for all intents and purposes its the same motor. the exhaust manifolds are different, as well as teh upper plenum. the block and heads are the same. PI headswaps are very popular in teh crown vic world. im still planning on doing that on my 2000 grand marquis when i finish modding my stang. the crown vics didnt get the PI heads/intake until 2001.

realy?
i didnt know crown vic had PI heads ever?
and dose the PI 4.6 in the crown victoria make the same power as the mustang?

if it had the same computer and exhaust as the mustang it would.
