satisfied or not...

My take on the 03-04 cobra is that if you listen.....they sound like screaming cats in heat...kinda like the grand prix GTP.
Also they are all the same...I like working on my car and installing go fast parts. When my car hauls ass..I know that it is because it is something that I added to make it that way. It is harder to make a 2V scream so the fast ones get way more respect.
Just my $.02

Satisfactions: Ive always wanted a Mustang. Exhaust note. Slamming through the gears. Burning some tires. The way it looks.

Complaints: Someone used and abused it before me. It hasnt felt fast since the first few days that I bought it, moving up from a 4x4. Parts are expensive and they dont do much in terms of performance. 99-04 GT's hold their resale value like a rock falling from a cliff.

 jealousy is such an ugly emotion... The exhaust note is so beautiful its almost musical. I LOVE IT! :hail2:

Satisfied? Tough question. I have been satisfied with my GT's reliability and the fact that its still faster than 95% of vehicles on the road. I've never been happy that most people look down on it and think its slow. Its not slow, but not as fast as it should be. 285 hp would have been better than 260 hp.

Well after I modded the car slightly, I wished I went for the mach 1...because it would have started out much quicker. (problem is that I didnt like it when I first drove one...and at that point I didnt really care alot about power) And the first 04 cobra I drove, about 2 weeks after buying my GT felt suprisingly slow...didnt feel much faster than my GT. And the motor felt weak @ 1000-1200RPM if you were driving in like 2nd gear part throttle..made that high load noise...my GT did not and was fine with low RPMs. I also hated the clutch and DESPISED the transmission. So needles to say I didnt like the cobra either and had 0 desire for one.

Then I desided after learing how powerful and easy they were to mod, to test drive a used 03. WOA! what a difference...this one I could feel the power. felt 3 times as fast as the first one...which wouldnt spin the tires in 1st and got a slight chirp speed shifting into 2nd gear
This 03 would destroy the tires from a 40 MPH roll in 2nd, and really set you back hard. Was ALMOST thinking of trading my car in...talked to the retards.
600 per month for 60 months. I almost stared laughing...and told them thats EXACTLY how much I would have payed for the BRAND NEW 20 mile 04 cobra that I test drove.

Anyways now im very glad I kept my GT. If I bought the mach it would have been fast...with about 350RWHP N/A right now, and no way I would have done TTs on it because it would have beem powerfull enough. And I would eventually just go heads/cams and make over 400.
If I had bough the cobra I would still be paying for it and mod money would be severaly limited...it would probably be making fairly close to what im putting down right now.

So I have no regrets...my car is payed for and its turbod....and iv got 37,000 TOTAL in it. Exactly what a the brand new cobra was going to cost me after intrest.

I too was satisfied with my NPI when I first got it, then again it was my first car ever so I had nothing to compare it to. Then I raced a friend in his talon on interstate and lost by about 20 car lengths and got the itch. If I would have kept my money, bought a crap car, and saved up for 2 years I could have bought a black/black 98 Cobra with like 35000K on for 12,000. Not only did it have a clean title vs my current salvage title but it was also a 5speed, had 4 valves, and wasn't the ugly tan/black combo that my current interior is. Overall it was a much better car. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20.

I'm happy with my car... until I check out ebay or autotrader and see that I can get a 1999 (with the fix) and almost a 2001 cobra for the same amount as what I payed for mine 3 years ago... but I'm happy with how I'm making mine perform and look now (for the less then $3K I've spent modding it... everything included... paint, rims, tires, cams... etc.etc.etc.)... and there's alot more that I will do...

But all in all I'm happy with it.
