I have about 4000 miles on my Vortech SQ... All of a sudden, I've noticed an intermittent squeling sound coming from near to the blower. Could even be the idler. It queals (screach, screach screach... on and off) with the speed of the RPMS.

I tries spraying belt dressing, for process of elimination... starting with the belt, but it's still doing it, when I start the motor cold.

Has anyone encountered this?
Have any idea's how to locate the source?
Any suggestions?

Thanks guys.

Does it quite down while you are spraying the belt dressing?

It doesn't do it when the motor gets good and ward. When I sprayed the dressing on, the motor was pretty much warmed up. It did go away after spraying for awhile.

Thing is, I let it cool down, started up and it did it again, until it warmed up again... Just don't know.

Thanks... The next time I start it, I will spray some WD40 by the pully bearing to see if it quiets down at all.

As a side note, once the AC is turned on, the squealing pretty much stops = load eliminates the squeal.

I've had to put like 3 on my car due to squealing. Go ahead and get both of them (same part) ....
