scatter shield and long tubes

First, I did search. So my question is what are the odds of my BBK long tube headers and my mcleod safty shield no hitting each other in a 88 LX? also I'm using a stock crossmember. I have searched and found some that work and some that dont but the years of the car were not given. So anyone who knows for sure please let me know.

I have never seen a scattershield work with long tubes without some mod work. My pal had gotten a used Lakewood for his 89 hatch and it wouldn't work with his BBK Longtubes. So I Ebayed it for him.

My 1 3/4" bbk longtubes clear my mcleod scattershield and my old 1 5/8" bbk longtubes cleared too

I have HEARD that the McLeod and BBK combo have the least amount of problems if any at all.
