I appropriated this post from the work Larry did on “the other board” (is it still called that?). Hope to see you there!

For you SoCal & San Diego folks, we are doing the Carlsbad Outlet Mall show this coming Saturday, March 31. The show is a lot like the old Crystal Cove show, lots of exotics and newer muscle cars. This is a monthly show and usually draws 100+ cars.

The show will start at 7:00am and usually ends around 9:30am. For those who want to cruise down in a group, let's meet Saturday morning at the Mervyns shopping center (I-5 freeway at Alicia offramp in Mission Viejo)at 6:15am and be ready to leave at 6:30am.

Specific Directions -

7:00am - 9:30am
Carlsbad Company Stores
5620 Paseo Del Norte
Carlsbad CA 92008

From I-5 exit Palomar Airport Rd.
Head East (from I-5 South go left, from I-5 North go right)
Turn LEFT on Paseo Del Norte
At first light turn RIGHT into shopping center
Enter and turn RIGHT at T-intersection into South parking lot

The center has a Ruby's Diner which is open for breakfast.

Looking forward to seeing a good group of cars on Saturday

Well, we had fun this AM! 5 of Us made the road trip down to Carlsbad in quick Saleen Cruising time! There wasn't as big of a turn out as I was expecting & hoping, but the company was awesome and always is the main reason why I go! 2 other Saleens ended up showing up a 2006 S281 Extreme and a Parnelli Jones edition Saleen, Sean with his awesome Vert, a bunch of exotics, a GT500 New Version Shelby Mustang, a bunch of Mustangs New & Old, and the list goes on & on! It was a fun short but sweet trip! An interesting point I learned from my trip experience down was, following a New Body Style 2007 Saleen S281 SC down to the event, I realized that, Wow, those/these cars don't make much sound going down the road even with some throttle! Also, not saying this to be mean or anything because I love the New Version Saleen too, but man those 275's look to thin on that lady's wide rear end! How do you get any traction with those??? Now, I know what Marcus was talking about when he was talking with Joe about cutting a 20" X 10" and making it 20" X 11" for fatter tires! Those cars need some bigger meats!

It was nice seeing you guys out there. Here are the pics I took:

I agree, it was a nice Saturday to drive down the coast and see some cool cars. Also nice to add at least two new Members to SCOA at the show (including a brand new PJ Saleen). The Viper boys had about 8 cars there and Symbolic Motors of San Diego brought 5 Lambos. Quite a few nice Mustangs from the local San Diego Mustang club as well.

The same Saturday at Cars & Coffee in Irvine, the star of the show was the 2001 Ferrari F1 car Michael Schumacher drove at the 2001 USGP. Apparently the owner trailered in to the show and fired it up for the crowd. Also, 3 Lambo Miuras showed up, a Ferari F50 and Steve Millen brought his race-prepped Ford GT's.

There is just too much to do in SoCal every week-end.
