Just scored a brand new Jasper 5.8 long block for $400 and a '99 Explorer motor, complete top to bottom with 56k on it for $260. Sounds like one hell of a deal to me.
Thoughts or opinions on what to do with the pair???
by next summer my name will ring true.. i just picked up a .30 over '69 351w block... i had to do an emergency swap when my 147hp 302HO blew in the 82... sucks, but it now gives me time to create a masterpiece motor instead of my stock longblock 351... if money is willing, i will be ITBing a 408. it will be evil.
Going to pick up the 5.8 tomorrow night. I'll find out what casting numbers everything has. From Jasper's website it should have D8 or D5 heads, not sure on 2V or 4V. Guess we'll see.
I thought I was going to get outbid on the Explorer motor, but I lucked out and got it. I may pop my carb manifold on the motor as I don't have the EFI stuff ready for my car yet.
Anybody have a 5.0 wiring harness for sale??? Preferably to work on a 93 car...
Well I picked the motor up. It's got the D0OE-C heads with the 1.85/1.54 valves. It has screw in rocker studs with the locking adjusters. They are clean too!!!
