scorpion rocker issue

Hi fellas, New to the forums. New to the car as well. 65 mustang fastback, Keith Craft 408

I pulled the valve cover and noticed some damage to the rocker. (I have very limited motor internal skills) This said what do you guys see the problem being? backlash to lose?

its almost like its hitting the hex nut but not sure how thats even possible
