So i had ford fix my vacuum problem i had on my car. Turned out to be the valve and now my AC etc works fine. Well that bred a new issue. Id be riding down the road say after speeding up to like 60 mph and let of the gas then id get like a jake brakeing effect. loose about a 1k rpms about two or three times then it would quit. Ford says its my TPS is not configured right. Had it checked (its brand new) voltage off of the tps is perfect And i never had this problem prior to them working on it. I still think it is a vacuum issue but ford wont here it just took my 75 bucks to tell me that and send me away. Any ideas? FYI my Intake manifold by the thermastat cracked 3 weeks after they worked on this issue as well. Ford is such bad luck.

i get that same jake brake effect too, the car would start to decelerate real hard then it would ease off and the exhaust would get quieter, i don't have a clue what causes it

the ford dealer had NOTHING to do with the intake cracking.. .. the intakes go on these cars often it's a common problem, Ford designed a new intake for it and I ran your vin and your out of coverage by a month.. sorry but I doubt there is much they will do for you..

about the other issue I highly doubt it's the TPS.. I have a sticky at the top of this forum about how our TPS works..

the most common problem related to this is the IAC ( idle air control valve)

Brand new IAC on there.... Its ive been down that road its not exactly the same idle and die the iac had. Sounds more like a jacked vaccum line to me casue you can hear it ride a little rough prior as well.

how long ago did you put the IAC on..

by a jacked vacumm line you mean one thats leaking.. this would light the check engine light with a p0171/p0174 codes. ( lean bank 1, lean bank 2)

plus a vacuum leak would make it run awfull at idle all the time.

what was the original vacuum repair you are talking about? what did they fix? from the way you describe this first repair it sounds like they fixed a vacuum problem to the climate control components inside ( because you say no your a/c works, the only way vacuum has anything to do with the climate control system is in the door motor controls for the plenum)

I think your really stretching to try and get it fixed for free ( I don't blame you on that but to diag a car you have to look at everything not just what you can get fixed for free)

Sure it's possible you have a vacuum leak and it has not lit the codes off yet, maybe if this just started happening you could have this. BTW this car still has a cracked intake right????? if so get that fixed first and see how it runs like then.
