I was talking to the guy who will dyno-tune my car, if I get it dyno tuned, and he suggested using an Sct 4 Bank Chip and a ba2600 maf. Now i know I can get an adapter to fit the piping for it, but I really want to tune this thing myself. Is there another tuning system from sct that does not require their own software to burn the chip, or could you give me any other suggestions.

Here are my plans:

Within the next few months up to a year from now I will be installing a single turbo kit. I will have 42lb injectors, and already have the 255lph fuel pump. I kind of want to get the system, at least for now, so I can play around with the tuning to become handy with it, so when I do put the kit on, I will have some familiarity with it.

Thanks for any insight guys, I hope I didn't leave too many loopholes.

well i guess i came to the conclusion that the sct is kinda stupid. I think I may go with the Tweecer instead, that way I can get used to it before going boosted. Suppose I could tune a maf and 42lb injectors down to run well on just the stock motor? I worry about it running too rich, but wouldn't the tweecer control injector pulse, etc.?

Please give me a little feedback so on whether I should go this route or not, thanks

With the tweecer you will configure the ecu settings to match the hardware you actually have... MAF, 42's, etc........

The problem that could come up with a stock motor and 42's is injector control at lower duty cycles.
At low duty cycles the injectors can be less accurate in metering fuel.

I don't know if this will be an issue for your setup or not... but that is the only issue I can think of that the tweecer can't fix...

I guess that's not too much of a problem I can always install the injectors and bigger maf later with the turbo, but I definitely think it would be a fun experience to learn the tuning process better. Plus I could get rid of the stupid smog codes in the computer finally! Any suggestions where to buy for the best price?

ALL tweecer dealers will have the same prices...

Buying used is different, and they are floating around on the forums.

Agreed,
it would be best to learn the tuning basics before you start adding boost.
