I am planning to install the SCT Micro Tuner's performance tune, and I downloaded a copy of it's manual and it says that I must remove the fuel pump fuse before installing a performance tune. Does anyone know where the fuel pump fuse is located on a 2001 Mustang GT Convertible? And once I find it, do I just pull it out and put it back in after the performance tune is installed?

I sold my Predator a while back, and I didn't have to remove the fuel pump fuse, does anyone know why the SCT's Micro Tuner requires its removal?

The fuse is in the engine compartment fuse box located near the battery. Your car's owners manual will show it's location, and it's really easy to get to. I don't know why it has to be removed when using the Superchips Microtuner.

I THINK it's fuse #14, but double check the owner's manual. The fuel pump fuse must be pulled to keep power drain to a minimum - if the battery voltage drops too much during flashing, your EEC will die. We always hook up a battery charger to the battery too - we never want the EEC to die during a flash. It's very unlikely that it will happen, but why take any chances,

Fuse 14 is correct fuse for a 2003-2004, and is likely the same for a 2001. It is a 20A fuse by the way.

Does anyone know why the Predator didn't require a fuse removal (just on a side note)? Are there big differences in either of the company's performance tunes?

There is no way i know of to tell what the proprietary settings are in either unless you are a Superchips or CMR dealer. They both are good performance tunes right out of the box in my opinion, particularly if you have an automatic.
