What does your sct software disk look like? I finally got my tune email to me today but the cd the guy sent me says 2008 instructions & return authorization policy. I think he didnt send me the software cd! I put the cd in and its only pdf format instructions. No software. If I need to buy the software, where can I get it an. AHHH, Im fuming right now!

SCT Software

What software are you looking for exactly? The software to get your emailed tunes onto your tuner? You don't need a CD for that, just download it from their site. That's what I did. I recently bought my 08 GT and it came with a tuner. The previous owner emailed me the tunes, I downloaded the software and Wham-o, good to go.

Where exactly did you download from there site? I found these downloads. SCT Automotive Performance Products I tried to download both of these, but once I save them and I try to open them it says windows needs to know the program that created it. And then tells me to go on the web to find out who created it. I'm starting to get real mad. I hate dealing with computer crap.

I downloaded it from here. SCT Automotive Performance Products
I have an X3 so I downloaded X3LWUpdater.exe. It sounds like you downloaded the firmware file instead of the actual software needed to run in windows. Make sure you select "Device Update Software" from the drop down box. It should lead you to an .exe file. Install that and you should be good to go. That drop down box is misleading. It should be more descriptive than "Device Update Software." I wouldn't worry about doing a firmware update on your tuner if you aren't having problems with it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
