All,

Just had the 347 built and an SCT tune put on my car. It's hard to start, running lean, and won't idle when cold. When warm, the car is fine. Any ideas?

Call them back and tell them about the issues.

You give no info about inj's, maf, and the like
so
I would not even know where to start.

Why do you think you are lean when cold?

final 5-0,

I have a BBK 75mm MAF, 30# injectors, BBK Long-tube headers, and most of the build is listed under my name. I went to your page and got some ideas of what to tell the tuner. When the car is first started it lets out a decent puff of black smoke. I found something on one of the sites that you mentioned about the long-tube header O2 sensor problem, and I also had the problem of the "shift retard".

Thanks,
Smitty

And, I'm not a mechanic here. Hopefully you have some ideas from my cryptic post, lol.

OK Greg

I must have missed that stuff the first time around

I would think you would be a bit rich on start up due to the 30's as opposed to lean

Your extra 50 cubes will make some things be present I did not have to deal with. The most obvious will be you are gonna have your load values be farther off than a typical na 302 combo such as mine.

You say it runs good when up to normal temps

I gotta think a little more fine tuning on your original tuners part would fix things up nicely.

I would not worry about the lt's causing the O2's to cool too much as it does not happen on all combos. Of course, it would not hurt to mention that concern to your guy.

I would be specific as possible about any issues such as you have mentioned in this thread to your guy as that kind of info can only help him to clear up these pesky small bug a boos.

I know the info we have talked about here is rather general in nature but when it comes to drivability issues ...........

The only way I know to deal with them is to have hard data to see what is happening and start the process of optimizing based upon that data.

I hope it all goes well for you Greg
and
if you got other Q's ........

We got a good bit of tuning peeps who hang here these days

Thanks Grady. Like I said I am learning here. I do actually work on computer and communications systems for a living, so I understand spreadsheets and values at least, and how they can screw up an otherwise good program.
