Help fix seat belt alarm

Hello all,

My fasten seat belt alam keeps ringing even after I plug my seat belt in place it sees it does not read or register when I plug in my seat belt. Has anyone ever had this problem before? any solutions to how to make it stop and leave the seat belt warning indicator off. Is this a recall item? My car is a 00' GT
also I called FORD about the seat belt retractor not working it seems there is a recall for certain years why not mine (Based on the Vin) what steps do people have to take to iniate recall action?

PS where is the port to plug in to recharge the AC unit? I can't seem to find it.

Yes. There is a, long, proceedure you need to follow to do it.

File a complaint with the NHTSA. Be sure to have evidence, such as major injuries you have sustained, ready to back up your claim.

the beltminder you can turn off by following the directions in your owners manual.

go to the index and look up seat belt, or beltminder.

Anytime the safety belt is buckled and then
unbuckled during an ignition ON cycle, Belt Minder
will be disabled for that ignition cycle only.
Deactivating/activating the belt minder feature
Read steps 1 - 9 thoroughly before proceeding
with the deactivation/activation programming
procedure.
The Belt Minder feature can be deactivated/activated
by performing the following procedure:
Before following the procedure, make sure that:
² the parking brake is set
² the gearshift is in P (Park) (automatic
transmission) or the neutral position (manual
transmission).
² the ignition switch is in the OFF position
² all vehicle doors are closed
² the driver’s safety belt is unbuckled
² the parklamps/headlamps are in OFF position (If
vehicle is equipped with Autolamps, this will not
affect the procedure.)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off.
(Approximately 1–2 minutes)
² Steps 3–5 must be completed within 60 seconds
or the procedure will have to be repeated.
3. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times,
ending with the safety belt unbuckled. This can be
done before or during Belt Minder warning
activation.
4. Turn on the parklamps/headlamps, turn off the
parklamps/headlamps.
5. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times,
ending with the safety belt unbuckled.
² After step 5 the safety belt warning light will be
turned on for three seconds.
6. Within seven seconds of the safety belt warning
light turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety
belt.
² This will disable Belt Minder if it is currently
enabled, or enable Belt Minder if it is currently
disabled.
7. Confirmation of disabling Belt Minder is provided
by flashing the safety belt warning light four times
per second for three seconds.
8. Confirmation of enabling Belt Minder is provided
by flashing the safety belt warning light four times
per second for three seconds, followed by three
seconds with the safety belt warning light off, then
followed by flashing the safety belt warning light
four times per second for three seconds again.
9. After receiving confirmation, the
deactivation/activation procedure is complete.
