I hate doing it, but that fact is having these two toned leather/suede seats its only a matter of time before something gets on them(Read NOOB COBRA OWNER). I just dont want any seat cover, but one that fits and looks really good. Any suggestions?
I remember SVT offering some snug seat covers...might want to check a ford/svt acessory catalog, I don't have the link bookmarked anymore, but they did have it up on a website...
Man I looked for months to find a good set. Never did find any. I looked at the ones from SVT at a ford dealership and I thought they looked cheap. Also while looking at them installed on a seat in the catalog they dont seem to fit very good. Finally I just bought a set from the local parts shop so nothing would happen to my seats. And as expected they arent worth a crap. But they do annoy the hell out me when getting into or out of the car. I am considering going to a shop that does interior work and having some custom made. Let me know if you guys find anything.
check out wet okole has great quality and is water proof too. It's a little pricy, but it is worth it. I had a set on my GT, and when I took them off before I traded her, the seats looked brand new. I'm planning to buy a new set for my Cobra soon.
Horsepower TV today showed them replacing seat skins on a pre '99 cobra (I assume it was a Cobra because the seats were leather they were replacing).
They said just about anybody could do them themselves in about 4 hours with a cost of about $700.00 for frnt and rears. They looked really nice. Apparently they will even do custom logos on the seats if you want.
Damn, those Katzkins are nice. Do you know if the leather is high quality? I wouldn't mind doing some two toned in my 99 Vert. I wonder how easy it actually is and how much it would cost.
First off... Your leather seats are going to crack and wear whether you have a seat cover on there or not. That's just the way leather is. If you want some of the best covers made do what sonicx219 said and get the http://www.wetokole.com/ . They already have the pattern for the stock '03/'04 front seats. They can do damn near any color combination plus they even perform custom embroidery.
I think if you take good care of your leather seats they should only get wrinkles in them--not cracks. I also think leather seats look cool slightly worn--it's proof that that are leather and not vinyl or "pleather".
The Interior Specialist at the Local Ford SVT dealer (he doesn't work for them) told me that the leather used in the 03-04 is of very good quality. To make them last use Mink Oil, as always do a small spot first. He told me ALL aftermarket leather sheets/liquid is for **** and Never use them. Clean with saddle soap or very mild dish detergent (ivory) then apply the Mink Oil (Wal-Mart, Sears, etc..
He makes his living replacing interior pieces gone bad and electric seat heats for the local Ford/GM dealerships. He just did my 99 F350 bottom drivers seat, out of warranty, cost $200.00 installed . I caught up with him last Friday as he was replacing GM heater seats (6 in one day).
I agree, saddle soap and Mink oil is all that has ever been used on my 71 Lincoln and the factory leather looks just almost like it did the day it was new.

here are the ones offered from SVT (via the Beanstalk Group) in the Ford Collection catalogs. They're made of a pretty heavy-duty canvas material and come in either tan or black, with the Cobra logo sewn into the fabric. They have stitch-reinforced cutouts unique to the Cobra seats at both the lumbar control buttons on the front and seat back adjustment lever cutouts on the sides as well. There's an additional map storage pouch on the back of each seat cover, too..... a nice little touch for a road atlas or whatever.
A bit pricey at $120.00 for the pair, but all in all, I can't complain about 'em much, either. They serve their intended purpose (Alcantra protection) nicely and don't look half-bad, IMHO.
Thx guy for the replies. I saw the set on Horse Power TV and those are very nice but for $700 I would be able to almost buy a new set of front seats. As for the ones from SVT I looked those up and they didn't seem to fit any better than the ones from auto zone, but now looking at them they don't seem too bad. But the ones from wet okole seem like they are the best fitting and looking of the bunch.
