Yesterday I was getting in my car and I went to push myself back a little with my feet. The rail right before the rear bolt on the drivers side of the drivers seat was broken when I got it, but when I pushed myself back I broke the front part of the same rail. So now when I make a sharp left my seat will fly towards the passnger. I think one of my friends has a mustang in his junkyard, so Ill prolly call him to see. But do you guys think some JB Weld would be a decent temporary fix?

I had the same thing with the power seat track on the 94. The front left bolt hole broke, so the seat rocked. It was like that when I got the car (along with a power seat on the outs) or I would have assumed my 260# self did it. :D

I went with a manual seat track, but be warned that the seat travel rearward is very short. I need to make brackets so the seat goes back further.

Good luck.

Oh, I dont personally think chemical weld will do anything. with the load forces on that boss, it would pop off IMHO. it should cost about 5 bucks (read cheap) to have someone weld a plate on that area (then you can redrill the hole through the plate).

I agree. Mine broke, we welded it (just the two broke pieces, didn't add a plate) and it broke again a few months later. I ended up just getting a used manual track and ditched the power one altogether.

when i launched my car, i too broke my seat. peobably because i weigh 280lbs, BUT all i did was buy some steel stock and bolt the 2 broken alunimum peices togther, and its been fine. Also, when i mounted my new seats on the stock rails, i moved them way back so i get like 6" more travel.
