So instead of going the traditional seat swap route (94+ seats, aftermarket seats) I was considering tossing in the seats out of my old Rx7. I measured out the mounting points, from the center of the bolts on each side of the seat it's approx 14" wide and 14" 1/2 long. I don't know if i'm able to use the stock 7 brackets though or if i'd have to unbolt these and use the mustang ones . Any help would be appreciated.... this isn't something i'm doing immediately but an idea that came to mind. these seats are really sweet. It'd be even better if I could get a mustang embroidered on them.

I see you making custom brackets or modifying the fox ones to work. either way it shouldnt take more than a weekend to make it work.

Well I know for a lot of the aftermarket seats you just have to drill holes then mount them onto the fox brackets right? So there's no reason the same wouldn't work here? I haven't had my mustang seats out yet so I don't know how most people mount their seats on the brackets....just asking.

Take your fox tracks off, and take the seat tracks off the RX7 seats and see if they line up. Measure twice, drill new holes and mount and test. Depending on seat geometry, it could be easy or you could need to fab up brackets

I sold those seats an eventually that car. I picked up a t top roller with eclipse seats in it. It looks like the PO used the fox seat tracks to compensate for the uneven floor, bolted the the tracks to the floor by the trans tunnel an drilled new holes in the floor for the bolts by the door. Are those the seats in that pic your going to use? They look nice. I'm no ricer but they come with nice seats.

Yea these are the ones, I know! lol I'm by no means a ricer either but I was really impressed that they were stock seats, they hold you nice and snug and best of all they're really light.

Thanks Mustang5L5, I'm picking up my mustang today so I figure i'll start taking the measurements n stuff. I found a pair of these seats for $35 bux. They had 1 tear on the driver side n needed a cleaning but hey that's niiice n cheap. I could probably sell my stock fox seats and make more money than it would cost to buy them lol. Anyway, if it all works out I'll start taking pics and write up a how to on it. Who knows, maybe i'll start a new trend.
