looking to change over from white leather seats to black leather. Will a coupe rear seat fit in a convertible? Or is there some way to change the color of the seats? Thanks!
You can buy rear seat covers for the vert and just switch those covers for the stock ones...it's a lot cheaper than getting all new seats. There are a lot of companies that make leather covers in a lot of different colors and quality levels for specific applications, a lot of them will even do custom embroidering as well for pretty cheap.
For the record I'm not talking about covers like you buy at kragen...I'm talking about covers exactly like the ones that come stock that cover the seat shells..
yeah, i agree....seatcovers will be much cheaper than changing the whole seat out. just look in some ads in 5.0 magazine. i know i've seen them in there for the exact stock style.
late model restoration supply....www.50resto.com......has a black leather upholstry kit for your front and rear seats for $699. look at the site...maybe you'd find one cheaper. and for the seat out of a coupe fitting in your vert. i don't think so! the vert. seat is about 6" smaller that the coupes.
Just be careful if you decide to try and get a set of covers off eBay. I tried this and the guy was actually selling pullovers instead of replacement covers. Luckly he caught his mistake before I sent payment and let me out of the auction. He relisted and properly described them and did not get a single bid.
