It is good to see more heavily modified classics. I bought mine in '79 and after building a motor and TRYING to do something w/ the suspension, stored it for a zillion years...
...until 1.5 yrs ago. Since then: 331 forged stroker/sportsman block; afr's; ported GT40 lower; KenneBell 2.2 blow/flow setup; R & C motorsports front end; re-engineered rear (to allow 17 x 11 under the stock sheet metal); custom dual roll bars...but there is STILL too much left to do! Makes me jealous that you are out driving yours!
And actually, I have another excuse [2005 GTO; currently installing STS turbo; already did the wheels/tires/suspension/stereo]...yeah, I went over to the 'dark side' and bought a GM product [although it is from Australia!]. Just couldn't deal w/ FRAUD dealer wanting 4000+ over MSRP on an '05 'stang.
