I am looking for this 1969 or 1970 429 Fiberglass hood. I was told that Maier Racing manufactured this hood, so I called Maier and sent them a picture. They do not make this hood. So who does? Any information on who manufactures this hood would be appreciated. This hood is fiberglass with reinforcement for the hinges and latch area. Please have a look and let me know.

Well, my buddy has a '69 'glass hood pinned on his '69 Mach I and it has a Boss '9 scoop, but it bolts on. The original scoop just bolted on a steel hood as I recall, why not just get a flat 'glass hood and a bolt on scoop?

If you look at the pic of the bottom of the hood, the opening to the scoop is not cut out anyway.

When I begin my 460 swap project into my 69, I planned on giving these guys a call:

I've got a fiberglass 429 boss scoop on the hood of my '70 fb. I've never seen an entire hood molded with the scoop, most like mine are a bolt on. Most of the aftermarket suppliers carry them (Mustangs Unlimited, CJ's, Mustang Depot, etc...).

Then who are you going to call to fix that POS?

Don't get me wrong, it looks cool, but knowing 3 people who've put UP22 stuff on their cars, they've spent more on fixing the stuff than they did on the parts PLUS the shipping. There are places with FAR better stuff than UP22.

I consider UP22 just one tiny notch above Cincinnati Composites. I've seen a CC cowl hood for a Fox, it was a 4" cowl, in the middle. It was 5" on one side and 3" on the other, I guess they figure the average.

The scoop on the 69 Boss 429 I had back in the 70's was a 'glass piece bolted to a steel hood. It had a metal flapper in front that was controlled by a cable with the knob under the dash right beside the knob for the manual choke. No bull.
