Well the time has come that it looks like I will be selling my Stang.

My daughter went to the orthodontist this past week and we got the news that she is ok to begin the procedure to put braces on her. Unfortunately insurance only covers about 1/2 the cost. We have enough money to make the downpayment of $1100 in September but it'll wipe us out and we won't have the funds for any emergencies that may crop up. So if I sell the car we'll have the money to pay the entire thing 100% right away, have money for a few needed house repairs and to put into savings.

I told the wife I'd be willing to make this sacrifice but that once we can afford it I want another Stang. She really doesn't want me to have to sell it but the reality is we don't have allot of choice. It'll probably be 4-5 years down the road (need to replace the wifes car in a nother year or 2) but I will be back in one and until the day I sell her I'll enjoy the one I have now. If I get another one I'll probably step up to a S197 or an 2010.

With that said I'll still have a 2 valve 4.6 with my 2004 Mountaineer. Not as fast but it'll get up and move. Anyone know if I can put my Mustang CAI on it? How about my Predator? If not I'll leave the CAI on the car and sell the Predator seperate.

Hate to see this day come but family comes first.

Wow, thats a bum deal, but at least your making the decision thats best for the fam. As far as the questions, can't help ya there since I have no clue since I just picked up my car a few days ago haha.

Thanks for the words guys. I'm really going to miss having it, but good news. Had a car show at my church today and apparently my pastor is interested in buying the car. We're friends so if he buys the car it'll almost be like keeping it in the family. And I'd be able to advise him if the mod bug were to bite, which I doubt. But he does like to drive fast as his side job is a police chaplain so he usually drives like he's on duty.

Some OD's allow monthly payments w/little to no interest.

Park your car, put fire/theft on it and make the payments for her teeth. Now is a bad time to sell any car as the market is down from what it was two years ago and when you are ready to buy another 'Stang, inflation may have taken over leaving another 'Stang further away from your grips.

If your car is not paid off, well then perhaps you may want to dump it and the payments, but if it is paid off, I'd put fire/theft on it and ask to make payments to the Ortho.
