Well I'm getting my car back together and when I went to put on the alternator bolt and power steering stud I found out the "studs" are to small for the holes...what do I need to do to make it work?...Are their inserts I can get at a parts store that thread into the big hole and make it smaller so I can get my alternator and power steering on?...

There isn't anyway I put on the heads backwards is their...I think the holes are the same on both sides of the heads (AFR 165s, emissions)...

Any help appreciated?

David

go get the inserts, they are like helicoils, from your local ford dealer if you cannot remove your old ones from your stock heaads. then you will be set.

What is the part number...or how can I describe it to them atleast...is it the same thing as thermactor plugs?...it will allow me to screw in the bolts and stud with the insert?

Thanks...

David

pretty much the same thing, if not exactly. i dont know what the pn is, but i just described it as the helicoil things in the front of the heads for the accessories and the parts man knew what i meant. get him to bring up a picture to confirm if you want.

I got my problem fixed...I tried to get the old ones out at my friend's shop and it was unsuccesful without damaging them...but he gave his friend a call and he had some brand new ones at another shop...so I went and picked them up for no charge ...and I put them in and got all my accesories mounted up...

Thanks for the help...
