Is there a benefit to a reverse rotation water pump? I am trying to select a kit and don't know the difference.

Usually you have to have a reverse rotation water pump if you have a 1 belt serpentine system. I have not seen the kits that use a standard rotation water pump so a link would be helpful in determining the answer to you question.

Depends if you are using a setup with an idler or if you are just using serpentine pulleys in the place of V-Belt pulleys.

My march set uses a standard rotation pump. I don't have any power accessories so I only have the one belt. On their site its under v belt to serp conversion. I'm also useing a drivers side radiator though.

Oh, you asked if there were any advantages... none that I am aware of. They simply changed the rotation because that's the way the belt was going.

I would like to thak everyone for the input so far. I will pick from each of your comments and reply. I hope to get more feed back from you.

First, I am looking at a March performance system for my engine. My car originally had power steering and AC but these have been deleted. I have a new driver's side radiator. Pardon my ignorance, but what is an idler? I see that the reverse rotation kits tend to have them while the standard rotation ones do not.

Stock 5.0s from the factory don't use idlers, they use tensioners. Images below should clarify.
