Ok Ive heard two sides to this story and I really would love to know the truth:
1. the rear 02 Sensors aren't supposed to harm anything. You can get an O/R pipe and drive around with the SES light on and it won't actuallly affect anything.
2. If you leave the SES light on, the computer will start trying to adjust things and the A/F ratios could be thrown out of whack.
I got a prochamber like 5 months ago and have been driving around with the SES light on (I've gotten two mils, splice and plug in, but they are crap, they give out way too easily). Here's the deal, ever since I got the O/R pipe I have to warm the car up in the morning, if I just drive off it sputters like mad and loses all throttle response for like 10-15 seconds. The rest of the day it's ok, but I do have to warm it up in the morning and for those few minutes I can hear/feel it idling really bad... almost like it's going to die, then a few mins later it's fine. That HAS to be the O/R pipe because everything was just fine until I got that thing, ive had the codes checked just for the hell of it and nothing. Now, coincidence or not, the SES light took about two weeks to come on and during those two weeks this never happened....
It's really annoying, its a new car and this just sucks.... but does this mean the SES light does affect things? Im thinking of just getting one last set of MILs... haven't tried Steeda yet and see if they work. I really don't want to waste so much money on a custom tune.
