Just wondering what you guys set your fuel pressure at. I have Trick Flow heads, e303, 1.7's and basically every bolt on (inluding exhaust) you can think of except for ignition system. Im currantly running 38psi with 0 vacuum but was wondering if I should run more. I have gutted cats and run open exhaust about 75% of the time (cutouts) and I still dont get a strong gasoline smell, but the spark plugs look fine, not showing rich or lean. Anyways, jus wondering since I raced my friend on the freeway (99 T/A 6spd w/lid, exhaust, cutout, MAF) and I barely inched on him from 70-105ish. Also wondering what timing I should be running, im running 16-17* with no pinging.

No ignition? I hope you at least have a hotter coil. High test gas, right? I'd bump it up to 40# @0"vac and see if it give's you more at WOT. You could have another 20HP suffocating in there. Worst case scenario you bog and have too cut back to 38#; but I'm pushing 40# with stock heads, so you could definately use more # with that much air. Those heads, tall RR's and open exhaust has a pretty unbalanced amount of air ratio to your fuel and spark. If you already hollowed your cats than you can't hurt anything by turning the fuel up a bit. I would feel safer with +14/15* timing myself, but if you don't have any pinging then what the hell?! Why not? Good luck!

Damn, this whole time and only one reply??

Ive read that you really dont need an upgraded ignition system if your not running boost or nitrous. as for a hotter coil, will I really even see anything? also BTW i checked my fuel pressure and I have it set at 40 so I guess just bump it up to 42.

Sorry. Just me. Do you have any way to check your A/F ratio? That would be a bit helpful. Theoretically, yes, ignition/coil would help, only becuase you have increased the air and fuel, so you need more spark. Don't know what the numbers are, but you could run less timing with the same effect with a better ignition.
