setting idle

ever since i got the car all back together, and popped a new battery on there, my idle has be very low (approx. 550-600 RPM's), and its pissing me off because my headlights are way dimmer, and i am stalling at least once almost everytime i drive the car now, which i NEVER did before......how do i adjust the idle is my question........
