Settle a Dispute

My co-worker had a 2000 stock V6 and claims to have been going between 114 and 119 mph and between 3000 and 3600 RPMs. He said he hit the rev limiter at 119 and it kept slowing back down to 114 before climbing back to 119mph. First - I find it a little sketchy that his stock v6 was at 119mph and 3300rpms, plus if he is hitting his rev limiter that is activating his fuel cuttoff at 119, then doesn't that meean his must have hit the RMP limit of the limiter which is somewhere around 6000RPMs?????

A quick response would be great!

rev limit and speed limit are two different parts of the stock tune ......

i was at 132 at 5000 in my 98 stock

not on the stock computer. you had to have a tuner to raise the top speed limiter to do that.

to the original thread starter your friend is right. a stock stang in top gear will be in the mid 3's in the rpm's and cut off at around 115mph

top speed limiter and the rev limiter are 2 different things
