I have a 92 vert with an 88 turbochicken motor in it, I installed Stingers front mount intercooler and have mandrel bent 3" exhaust from the turbo back with no cat and a straight through magnaflow so there is absolutely no exhaust restriction. Anyways I noticed after installing the front mount with all the piping, greatly increased the turbo lag as the turbo doesn't reach a good spool until about 4000 rpm and as it starts accelerating into the upper rpms it will have a hard backfire once or twice and will hesitate and lose power like someone hit the brakes, timing set to 10btdc spout out and boost maxing at 13psi (turned down to try to remedy backfire, no success). It also has a significant idle search when it is warm as it idle searches and dies when you stop. Checked for vacuum leaks, set TPS to .98. I have a cone K&N on the end of the large vane meter. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
