SFC's question

I went to a local guy here that works on mustangs. He used to work at Ford for 12 years and has a built fox so he seems to know his stuff. Anyway i went to him asking if he could weld on my full length SFC's i just got, but i noticed he didnt have any drive on lifts to do the job so i asked if he knew anyone else around that could do it. He said you didn't need a drive on lift. You jus had to lift the car up by the right lift points.

So what do you guys think? Does it really make that much of a difference if you weld the SFC's on without a drive on lift if you lift it up at the right spots or should it only be done with a drive-on lift?

Most likely he is saying if you lift the car in a way that duplicates the car at rest on level ground all is ok.

Never thought about it that way but thats all that makes sense to me.

That is correct, that's the same thing my buddy told me (who also works at a pure mustang shop) he welded mine up for $60.

yea ive never thought about that either but it does make sense that you dont want the frame twisted a bit while you weld them on

Well the SFC's got welded on no problem. I have the Blue Oval Ind.'s 46 inch full lengths with seat cross braces btw and holllyyy crap the car is SO much stiffer. It feels so much more solid and takes turns alot flatter it seems like. I went around a pretty damn sharp turn today at about 50mph and there was almost zero roll. I also have sportlines, KYB's, and Hotchkis lowers, but the SFC's are deff. one of the most noticeable mods i've done to the car.
