shaft task

would replacing the auxiliary shaft on my 2.3L 1992 mustang be a hard task or not, give me replies on what you think!

Havn't done it on my '93, but I did the timing belt a week 'er so ago, and according to the repair guides that i've referenced, I was only a few bolts and a puller away from being able to remove/ replace it. So judging by that I would say its not too bad just a little time consuming. Just make sure you're prepared to deal with getting the timing belt aligined correctly. (Might as well replace it too, since it has to be removed in the process if you havn't done so recently.) You should be able to knock it out in an afternoon, with the proper tools.

eh already put a new timing belt on about a year ago wen the water pump went out... that was fun but i dont think it will b to bad but a puller, u mean a 3 jaw or ?

Not sure exactly, the info I'm reading just says to use a puller to remove it. It might just slide out being that it has a retainer holding it in. (Once the retainer is removed of course.) One more thing the manual says that might pertain to the task at hand; "The auxiliary shaft cover and cylinder front cover share a common gasket. Cut off the old gasket around the cylinder cover and use half of the new gasket on the auxiliary shaft cover."

You don't need a puller to remove the aux shaft, just gotta remove the retainer on the front of it so it'll slide out. It installs a lot like a cam, even uses the same kind of bearings the cam does.

Got it done boys it took me a whole 2 n half hours they extra half hour was bc of the damn timing belt lol o well at least i got a car again! yay!
